CURRENTLY HAPPENING IN OUR DISTRICT

July 31st, 2017

AVRA VALLEY FIRE DISTRICT RECEIVES UPGRADED ISO RATING:    ISO has completed its analysis of our structural fire suppression delivery system. ISO’s survey plays an important role in the underwriting process at insurance companies. Our ISO rating is a large determinant in the amount of property insurance premiums our residents have to pay. Through an arduous audit process it was determined that the ISO rating for the Avra Valley Fire District is 3. This is an outstanding accomplishment, especially for a rural fire district.    This upgrade will impact every resident who lives within five miles of a fire station whether or not a hydrant is nearby. ISO looks at every aspect of a District’s operation. Most importantly, we were able to prove to ISO that we can maintain required fire flows for two hours anywhere within our District boundaries utilizing water shuttle operations and static water sources.
